“(CH3)3SiO3SCF3.SiO2: A HETEROGENEOUS CATALYST FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF 3,4-DIHYDROPYRIMIDIN-2(1H)-ONES UNDER MICROWAVE IRRADIATION”

Abstract: A successful one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones using (CH3)3SiO3SCF3.SiO2 as an inexpensive and readily available reagent through Biginelli condensation reaction of variable aldehydes, -keto ester and urea/thiourea is described. Outstanding yields, short reaction times, recovery and reuse of catalyst and simple work-up are some attractive features of this protocol.________________________________________
